Play HORSE Poker Online Free

HORSE is five fixed-limit games played in a fixed order, one per letter. Three goals come up: high, low and split.

In Mix Poker the rotation moves to the next game every 6 hands. HORSE runs H-O-R-S-E: Hold'em, Omaha 8, Razz, Seven Card Stud, Stud 8, then back to Hold'em. Each match starts on a random game in that order.

In practice that means 30 hands for one full lap through all five games. Each game gets six hands, and the three stud games come back to back: eighteen stud hands in a row (Razz, Seven Card Stud, Stud 8) before the table returns to the flop games.

Four steps:

1. Open learnmixpoker.com in a web browser, or open the iPhone app.
2. Sign in with Google or Apple.
3. Open Play, pick an opponent and choose HORSE under Format.
4. Pick heads-up or 6-max. Heads-up is a good first session: you're in more pots and make more decisions per lap, and heads-up bots unlock one at a time as you beat each one.

Play one full lap before you judge anything. These six habits cover most of what goes wrong in a first HORSE session.

• Name the goal at each switch. High, split, low, high, split. Do it out loud if nobody is around. Day 7 of the seven-day practice plan has a fuller line for each game.
• In Omaha 8, use exactly two hole cards. Two from your hand plus three from the board, for the high and again for the low, chosen separately.
• In Razz, aces are low and pairs are bad. The best hand is 5-4-3-2-A. A pair on board is a reason to slow down, not speed up.
• In the stud games, look at the upcards. Yours tell the bots what you might have; theirs tell you which cards are gone. If the cards you need are already showing in other players' hands, your draw is worse than it looks.
• In Stud 8, a low needs five cards 8 or lower. Five distinct ranks, no card above an eight. Without a qualifying low the whole pot goes to the high hand.
• Finish the lap, then look back. One full lap is 30 hands, enough to see every game once. Note which letter cost you the most and read that guide next.
